The Bachelor of Arts in English Studies and History program at the Virtual Learning and Distance Education Center aims to provide exceptional educational services to candidates in the fields of English literature and historical studies. Admission Requirements

To join this program, candidates must fulfill the following policy and procedures:

1. A general Secondary School Certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education or equivalent authority of the applicant’s country.
2. Candidates will be admitted if they pass at least 50% of the total subjects.
3. Four color photographs (6×4 cm) for physical applicants.
4. Payment of registration fees of US$ 30 (non-refundable).
5. The applicant must not have an active academic record at the Somali International University.
6. The applicant must have sufficient proficiency in the language of study.
7. All applicants should fill in the university enrollment form.

Program Structure

The English Studies and History program at the Faculty of Education, Somali International University, is designed to provide candidates with a well-rounded education in both English literature and historical studies. The program’s structure includes a variety of requirements across different categories, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. Below is a detailed description of the program’s requirements:

Fee Structure for the English Studies and History Program at SIU

Tuition fees for the English Studies and History program at Somali International University (SIU) are paid at the beginning of each semester in two installments. Below is the detailed fee structure for registration and tuition per term for the English Studies and History program:

• Registration Fees: US$ 30 (non-refundable)
• Tuition Fee Per Term: US$ 101

Note:

• Candidates taking exams at centers outside Mogadishu will incur an exam center fee ranging from US$ 20 to US$ 50 per semester, depending on the exam center.

Assessment Method

Candidates will be assessed through personal assignments and exams. Assignments, including a 15 to 20-page coursework, will account for 50% of the evaluation, with feedback provided by tutors. The remaining 50% will be assessed through exams taken at a university-approved center.
