Computer Lab

Welcome to SIU Computer Lab. Our lab is a well-equipped workspace that offers SIU students more than 50 computer workplaces (with 19″ displays, i3 processors and 4GB of RAM), microelectronics, internet, computer systems, nanotechnology and a private Training Lab as well as a wide range of cutting-edge software programs. All students are welcome to use any available facilities to study.

The Computer Labs provide innovative technologies and services that attract, inspire and support current and future SIU students as they pursue their academic and personal goals. Additionally, the labs offer a wide range of services and resources that support innovation, creative cross-discipline endeavors and academic development.

Mission

It is the mission of the Student Computer Labs to support the university’s mission and strategic plans by providing the following;

1. Open access to high quality, technologically-advanced environments in which students may pursue their academic endeavors.
2. State-of-the-art environments that support students in their personal and professional goals and assist them in preparing for the workplace of the future.
3. Technology that promotes the university’s commitment to academics, research, community engagement, and creative activities.
4. Professional and friendly customer service assistants who enhance the university’s ability to attract and retain qualified students.
5. Computer lab environments that support increased leadership in professional service and outreach activities that improve the quality of life in Somalia.
6. Environments that nurture a spirit of community, unity, and pride throughout the university.
