Undergraduate Program

FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

Somali International University is situated in a climatic environment that supports the production of conventional Somali crops and animals.  Therefore, the faculty would be more diverse in agricultural activities. This would diversify food production and availability in Somalia and boost national food security.  Furthermore, the friendly weather and suitable environment of Shebelle River that is close to the university and being a tourist attraction, would also attract more qualified staff and students.  This will increase patronage to the Faculty of Agriculture at Somali International University than others.

VISION

The faculty’s vision is provision of a competitive, sustainable, and technology-based agriculture and livestock sector to pursue quality education, excellent research, and skills, driven by productive and progressive farmers and livestock, supported by efficient value chains and well-integrated in the domestic and international markets contributing to inclusive growth and poverty reduction.

MISSION

To maintain a leadership role in the pursuit of knowledge through relevant and quality research, teaching, training for sustainable development, consultancy and outreach and to contribute to increased human resources, agricultural productivity, agri-business development, poverty reduction, and food security using environmentally sustainable technologies.
