The Faculty of Sharia and Law offers a distinguished academic programme that responds directly to Somalia's need for scholars and legal professionals grounded in both authentic Islamic jurisprudence and modern legal practice. Our academic programme — the Bachelor of Sharia and Law — combines a strong grounding in Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Hadith, and Tafsir with comprehensive legal training across constitutional, civil, criminal, and international law, preparing graduates who understand both the principles of Islamic jurisprudence and the practical demands of legal practice in Somalia.
Our Faculty team consists of dedicated scholars and practitioners who deliver rigorous education grounded in the realities of Islamic law, civil and criminal law, and the Somali legal system. Students are encouraged to engage in sound juristic reasoning, critical legal analysis, and community-oriented guidance, and the Faculty collaborates with courts, religious institutions, and legal bodies to provide practical training and employment opportunities for its graduates.
