The Faculty of Computer Technology at Somali International University (SIU) educates the software professionals, security specialists and data scientists that Somalia's digital economy depends on. The Faculty prepares graduates to build, defend and derive insight from the software, networks and data that increasingly run the country's banks, telecom networks and public services.
Teaching is delivered by qualified academic staff and experienced industry practitioners, supported by modern laboratories, project-based coursework, and an accredited-standard quality assurance framework. Every programme in the Faculty combines a strong scientific foundation with hands-on practice, professional ethics, and a compulsory industry internship, so that graduates arrive in the workplace ready to contribute from the first week.
The Faculty maintains close working relationships with telecommunications operators, financial institutions, government ministries and technology companies. These partnerships shape our curricula, provide training placements for students, and open employment pathways for graduates in Somalia and across the region.

Welcome to the Faculty of Computer Technology at Somali International University.
Our Faculty exists to answer a practical question: who will secure and make sense of the Somalia of the next twenty years? The answer is our students. Across three departments — Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science — we prepare young Somalis to write dependable software, defend national digital assets, and turn data into decisions.
We are proud of a teaching team that combines academic qualification with real professional experience, and of a learning environment that puts students in laboratories, in security operations exercises and in front of live datasets rather than leaving them with theory alone. Our students are encouraged to think independently, work in teams, compete, publish, and take part in the wider scientific, cultural and sporting life of the University.
